It is hard to believe that Selena’s death took place 21 years ago, the legacy of her music, style and overall iconic presence has transcended generations. Her fandom spans from those who were old enough to go to her concerts when she was alive, to those who were not even born in the 80’s and 90’s when her career was in full swing.

Selena's legacy is such that when makeup artist Jose Antonio Figueroa posted a picture on his Instagram of a dream-like MAC lipstick the internet EXPLODED. And, when radio producer Patty Rodriguez created a change.org petition and gathered over 37,000 signatures, MAC took notice. Last July the cosmetics company released the news that a MAC & Selena collection is set to be released later this year.

While we wait for a Selena inspired lippy, get ready because San Francisco is where we will have a Selena Tribute night. The event will take place on March 25^th at Mighty, and it will be hosted by radio legend Chuy Gomez and Mayra “Hella Breezy.” Also on deck, DJs Kool Kyle, Mr. E, Santero, and Lando 1 (with proceeds benefiting the Selena Foundation.)

The demand for this event has caused a frenzy on Facebook, so much so that the $10 pre-sale sold out within hours of the event published.
